Kitchen Measuring Guide

To take advantage of our free kitchen design request, you will need to fill out the kitchen design request form and enter as much information as possible so we can get your design back to you as soon as possible.

For obvious reasons, accurate measurements are very important for us to be able to successfully and accurately design and price your kitchen.

With that in mind, here are some tips for measuring:

  1. Ceiling Height - Measure from floor to ceiling in inches and note it as ceiling height. Draw lines to indicate the walls where cabinets will go.
  2. Wall Length - Measure the full length of the wall(s) in inches (") and note it on the outside of the wall. Show island or peninsula bar location and size if applicable.
  3. Door and Window Placement - Draw cross marks in the wall to show where doors and windows begin and end. Note their width" x height" and description between their marks. Be sure to notate whether or not you are including the casing/trim in your measurements.  It is preferred for us that you include the trim in your door/window width, but if it is not up yet, make sure you tell us the expected width of the trim on each side.
  4. Cabinet Placement - Next measure and notate all the open wall spaces for cabinets between door trim, window trim and corners.
  5. Sink Placement - We will usually center the sink under a window (if applicable), but regardless, we need to know the placement of the plumbing.  Measure to both sides of the plumbing so we know it will fit in the space allocated for the sink base.
  6. Appliance Placement - Finally, note where you want all appliances to be placed. In an empty room measure to where appliances connect to the utility in the wall or floor.
  7. Last but not least... Don't worry about it being pretty or to scale - The measurements are the most important part.  Our design software will put it all into proportion and to scale, allowing for easy verification and visualization of your kitchen!

Accurate measurements are very important to properly size your cabinets.  Once you have these measurements, fill out our Kitchen Design Request Form and we will get to work for you!
